About your environment

Cancer Council Victoria has been leading efforts against cancer since 1936 through world leading research, prevention, support and advocacy programs. The Fundraising and Communications Division (FCD) is responsible for ensuring that Cancer Council Victoria maintains a visible, engaging presence in the community; and to inspire and activate support from the Victorian public. In line with the organisation's mission and values, the division works to ensure appropriate funds are raised through a diverse revenue and generation program. This is achieved through best-practice high volume direct marketing and delivery of iconic events such as Daffodil Day, Australia's Biggest Morning Tea and Relay for Life .

About your opportunity

We are seeking 2 enthusiastic volunteers to join the Relay for Life Team. Reporting to the State Operations Manager, your role is to:

  • Provide administration support to the Relay for Life team
  • Deliver excellent customer service over the phone and email to Cancer Council Victoria's loyal volunteers.
  • Manage and maintain data integrity.
  • Assist with development of communications such as thank you letters, appreciation certificates and questionnaires

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • A passion to work in the events space
  • Strong administration and organisation skills
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Training and ongoing support will be provided. We can also offer a flexible and friendly work environment, social and wellbeing activities, and a central location close to public transport. Free car parking is also available for volunteers.

This volunteering opportunity requires your commitment ideally 1 day per week, between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm for a 6 month period. Agreed days and hours are negotiable.
