For any charity that depends on donations, planning for the future is important. To help us, please let us know if you choose to include us in your Will. It allows us to plan and forecast and provides us with the opportunity to thank you.
We've created a Bequestors Club as a way of showing you - during your lifetime - just how much we appreciate your generosity.
Once you've advised us we're included in your Will, we'll invite you to become a member of our Bequestors Club. You'll receive a certificate, lapel pin, and invitations to special events. You'll also be informed about our research projects and how your gift may help us in the future.
‘I feel like I am making a real difference - my bequest will help support life-saving cancer research, world-class education programs and important support services for people facing cancer." - Mavis Bailey
There's no obligation on you as a member of the Bequestors Club, except to let us know that you've left a bequest to The Cancer Council Victoria in your Will.

I feel I am making a real difference with my bequest
"Leaving a bequest to The Cancer Council Victoria is the biggest contribution you can make. I am a volunteer and have observed the way the Cancer Council works with its strong collaborations, professional committees and genuine efforts to keep administration costs to a minimum. These were all important factors, which helped to influence my decision to leave a percentage of my estate as a bequest. My bequest will help support life-saving cancer research, world-class education programs and important support services for people facing cancer. I hope that my bequest will contribute towards a cancer-free future."

I wanted to do more in the fight against cancer
"I am passionate about the fight against cancer and the work of The Cancer Council Victoria. They not only fund cutting-edge cancer research, but also conduct support programs to help cancer patients on an emotional level. A bequest can make a difference, as it will help to fund long-term research work.Writing my Will was simple – I did some research on the internet, visited the Cancer Council website and took all the details to a solicitor to be finalised. The fact I lost one of my parents to cancer was my main motivation for a bequest – hopefully my gift will help keep other families together, for longer."
-Robert Irving
"I have been twice touched by cancer – first my mother and then my husband – since that time I have been determined to do what I can to raise funds for cancer research, education and support programs. The Cancer Council is the leader in this field – you can be sure your bequest will go towards innovative and long-term cancer research and other cancer programs.
I first wrote my Will when I was 22 and had just had my first child. I was motivated by consideration for my daughter’s future welfare. It was a simple process – I went to a solicitor with the details I wanted to include and he finalised it to produce the final copy. Because of changing life circumstances, I have regularly updated my Will to ensure the people and causes I care about are included. It’s straightforward to amend your Will and include a bequest to a good cause.
I lost the love of my life far too young from cancer. I hope my bequest will save the lives of others and their loved ones from the pain I have experienced."

My bequest could make a difference one day
I wrote my Will when I was 20 years old and included a bequest to The Cancer Council Victoria.
Cancer is such a prevalent disease - we all know someone who has been touched by it. I wanted to support the Cancer Council and the vital work they do in cancer research and education.
I enjoy being a member of the Bequestors Club. I am invited to social events, receive information about research developments and am visited by the Bequests team.
Even if my personal circumstances were to change, I have made a long-term commitment to the Cancer Council in my Will. My bequest could make a difference one day.
