Victorian Family Cancer Register

A computer seen over a man's shoulderWhat is the role of the register?

The Victorian Family Cancer Register is a confidential database of families with an inherited risk of cancer. It's stored and maintained at Cancer Council Victoria. The Register helps these families by sending them reminders when screening appointments and tests are due. It also updates family histories so other family members are followed up with appropriate care.

Joining the Register

If you've attended a family cancer centre, one of the health professionals there can provide you with more information about joining the Register. In the case of Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP), medical specialists can refer their patients directly to the Register.

Security information

We take your privacy seriously - information about you is kept ONLY if you've given permission. No information about you will be released to your family members or anyone else without your permission.
