Telephone support groups are for people who, because of their illness or difficulty travelling, meet over the phone.
It's just like a normal phone call, except that you are linked up to and will hear from several other people. It's like being in a discussion group, except that you're all in your own homes. You use your normal phone.
The phone meetings occur at a set time every second week. The groups include six to eight people with cancer and two facilitators trained by the Cancer Council.
If you'd like to be part of one of these groups, or find out more, please call the Cancer Council Helpline on 13 11 20 or email csg@cancervic.org.au
