Blood

Circulates through the body via arteries and veins. It carries food, oxygen, hormones and other chemicals to the body’s cells, and helps remove waste products from the cells. It is also important in fighting infection. Blood consists of white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets suspended in a liquid called plasma.
