Thalidomide

A drug that is being trialled as a treatment for multiple myeloma and other diseases. It can cause severe birth defects, and must not be used if a woman is pregnant or planning to become pregnant (fertile men and women will be asked to use birth control while taking thalidomide). It can cause drowsiness, nerve damage and some other side effects.
