Men's cancers workshop

This 4-hour interactive workshop is aimed at health and community workers who want to update their skills and knowledge about men's cancer prevention and early detection.

It aims to give participants the skills and knowledge to present men's cancer education to individuals and groups of men.

Topics

  • Men's anatomy and changes through the lifecycle
  • Risk factors
  • Bowel cancer risk factors (including family history)
  • Prostate cancer: testing, diagnosis and treatment
  • Detecting cancer early: current screening programs for men
  • Working with men: tailoring cancer prevention education to suit the audience.

You get:

  • a certificate of attendance
  • a training manual
  • a kit of written men's cancer resources
  • morning tea during the workshop.
  • a password to access a restricted webpage with extra support, resources and advice.
