Larynx

The voice box, which can be felt as the Adam’s apple in the neck. It connects the throat (pharynx) with the windpipe (trachea). It contains two vocal cords, the two folds of muscle that close together when we swallow to stop food or drink entering the lungs. They also help produce voice.
