Lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and staffed by experienced cancer nurses with oncology qualifications. Although we can't give individual medical advice, we can talk about the effects of specific types of cancer and explain what will happen during processes like chemotherapy, radiotherapy or other cancer treatments.
Using a unique database of resources, our helpline staff can connect callers with cancer support groups and other community resources. Each contact is confidential and calls can be anonymous.
Information is also available on cancer prevention and early detection, including related Cancer Council programs. Teachers and students can access resources for schools and employers can access resources for education in the workplace.
Health professionals also call 13 11 20 to stay up to date.
Talk confidentially to a cancer nurse or a Quitline advisor with the help of an interpreter.
Connect with a volunteer who has been through what you're experiencing.
Can't travel for support? Talk to others in a group teleconference.
Concerned about body image, intimacy, sexual confidence or relationships after cancer? We can help.
