13th Behavioural Research in Cancer Control Conference

Venue and Host City

Melbourne is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city considered one of the most liveable cities in the world, with intimate laneways, gardens, heritage architecture and an ever-changing skyline. Melbourne is known for its vibrant energy, cutting-edge coffee and street art scene, restaurants, fashion boutiques, cafe-filled laneways, hidden bars, unbeatable galleries, spacious parks and village-like inner suburbs-each with its own special character.

Getting Around

Airport to CBD

SkyBus Airport Express services operate between Melbourne airport and the CBD, 24/7 and depart frequently (no bookings required). You can also access the complimentary City Hotel Shuttle service to get you to and from your hotel. More on Sky Bus

Taxi ranks can be found on the ground floor level outside all terminals. You can get an estimation of your fare online.

Public Transport

Melbourne has a free tram zone within the CBD making it easier for commuters and tourists to move around the city. Download a map of the free tram zone (PDF).

If travelling by bus, train or tram (outside of the free tram zone) you will need to purchase a Myki card before you travel and ensure it has sufficient funds for your trip. More on Myki.

For more information on public transport including routes and timetables visit ptv.vic.gov.au.

Melbourne's taxis can be booked in advance, hailed on the street or found at taxi ranks. They are metered and require an estimated prepaid fare when hailed between 10pm and 5am. Two of the largest taxi companies are Silver Top (phone 131 008) and 13 Cabs (phone 132 227). More on taxis.
