A New Day
Age: 9
Oil on Canvas
I was sad when my grandma had cancer so I painted her a picture to say it's gone and she can stand up and shine and be happy just like before.
During the judging process, I just kept coming back to this picture. I was drawn to it. Everything works together - the balanced composition, the content, and the beautiful colours . This picture has an earthy, and distinctly Australian feel and there is something so uplifting about the outstretched arms , the glowing sun, and the brilliant blue water.
The Statement says it all.
