Artist's Statement

Kirsten is very close to her Poppa. She doesn't understand the word cancer, she only knows that if Poppa is not in hospital at Easter Time he is going to toast marshmallows and cook damper at her favourite place (the bush block). 'Seize the Day' - especially on special occasions

This is a delightful piece, whimsical and gorgeous to look at. Kirstin's subconscious symbols are funny and thought-provoking - I love the chickens and the nurses as finger puppets - and her rich luscious colours combine to make a very joyous artwork.
