About your environment

Cancer Council Victoria has been leading efforts against cancer since 1936 through world leading research, prevention, support and advocacy programs. Relay For Life (Relay) is the world's largest fundraising event for cancer, with events raising more than $5 million annually in Victoria alone. Relay is an overnight event in which participants walk or run relay-style at venues throughout Victoria. Relay events are community owned and volunteer led, supported by Cancer Council Coordinators.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a Team Leader to join the Relay For Life Events team. Reporting to the State Operations Manager, you will:

  • Lead, train and motivate a team of Cancer Council Coordinators to effectively engage with local communities to deliver successful events throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria
  • Identify opportunities to recruit new, dedicated and skilled volunteers, and enhance volunteer engagement.
  • Ensure appropriate resources and processes are in place for the team to deliver successful events.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, enabling stronger engagement with the community and our supporters.

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • 3 years' experience in a similar position, preferably in a non-profit environment; and degree qualifications in business streams or related
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team of relationship-driven individuals, with exceptional leadership skills and the capacity to mentor, develop and empower a team
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and effectively manage relationships with varied stakeholders

What we can offer you

This full-time permanent position provides a salary within range $66,644 - $74,930 pa plus superannuation, annual leave loading and the benefits of not-for-profit salary packaging and a meal entertainment card.
