Cancer Council Victoria has been leading efforts against cancer since 1936 through world leading research, prevention, support and advocacy programs. The Prevention Division aims to reduce the risk of cancer in the Victorian population through social marketing, advocacy, professional education and providing policy advice based on the best available evidence. This involves action to affect individual behaviours and the broader physical and legislative environment to support health and wellbeing.

 About your opportunity

We are seeking a creative Digital Content Producer to join the Prevention Communications team. Reporting to the Digital Manager, your role is to:

  • Develop concepts and then create digital assets for our programs including video, infographics, images and online advertising.
  • Lead video pre-production, filming and post production including editing, sound and graphics.
  • Develop rich media content for Prevention Division program websites, e-newsletters and campaigns.
  • Advise and implement social media engagement strategies including developing new media channels, investigating appropriate social media monitoring tools.
  • Work with the Digital Content Producer and supervise the technical use of assets creation software (Adobe Creative Cloud).

This a creative and hands-on role making content that saves lives by encouraging Victorians to quit smoking, be SunSmart or live a healthier lifestyle. You will be in high demand from documenting people's real life stories to creating clever graphics that break technical data into binge-worthy chunks, while also working on campaigns that use behavioural insights to motivate people to make lifestyle changes.

All about you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has supreme video creation and graphic design skills; you can take a brief, develop a concept and make it come to life.
  • Has demonstrated experience developing and implementing successful social media strategies for an organisation or community.
  • Can think laterally and come up with creative solutions that suit the intended audiences
  • Can collaborate on ideas and concepts with various internal and external stakeholders.

What we can offer you

This part-time (3 days) fixed term position to 31 December 2017 provides a salary within range $66,700 - $74,900 (pro rata for part time) plus superannuation, annual leave loading and the benefits of not-for-profit salary packaging and a meal entertainment card. We also offer a flexible and friendly work environment, social and wellbeing activities and a location close to public transport.
