Research practice guidelines

Our Research Code of Practice applies to all individuals at Cancer Council Victoria, who are expected to commit to the highest standards of professional conduct.

The code is based on the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (2007). The Australian Code contains specific procedures for responding to complaints about research misconduct.

At Cancer Council Victoria there are four Advisers in Research Integrity able to advise any staff unsure about a research conduct issue. We also have a Designated Person to whom allegations of research misconduct should be directed – Ms Woody Macpherson, Head, Research Management Unit.

If you have any questions about our Research Code of Practice, please contact:

  • Ms Woody Macpherson, Head, Research Management Unit (ph 03 9635 5100) or
  • Ms Karen Sharp, Ethics Officer, Research Management Unit (ph 03 9635 5101) or
  • email research@cancervic.org.au.
